No More Biden-Trump Debates!

Yesterday’s Biden-Trump debate was deeply disturbing, even disgusting, because of Donald Trump. Apart from his extreme boorishness, aggressiveness, and dishonesty, Trump showed he despises democracy and human rights, and will not respect the election results if he loses. He is the biggest betrayer of our Constitution the nation has ever seen. He is transparently a would-be fascist dictator and will do everything in his power to become the first dictator of the United States. Even sabotage the election. Trump wants to lead a police state. He shows he is an uncouth bully, cheat, liar, hypocrite, a total fraud, and probably very corrupt.

Clearly mentally disturbed, Trump openly encourages white supremacists, neo-fascists, the KKK, and violence. Just like Hitler and Mussolini, he invents a non-existing leftwing extremist threat (“Antifa”, which is only against fascism), in order to bolster fascism. Our only domestic threat to democracy is, in fact, fascism. He says and does nothing to criticize and end police brutality. His best foreign leader friends are dictators and egregious violators of human rights. He disparages our democratic allies. He did everything to hide his tax returns because they are damning, revealing that he is a failed businessman and heavily indebted to undisclosed enemy foreigners who are probably blackmailing him into harming our nation’s interests. He is a serious national security risk. He might well be treasonous in order to save himself from total bankruptcy and imprisonment if he does not manage to remain president for a second term and corrupt the entire government. Trump, who refuses to release his own college transcripts, had the gall to ask Biden what his college grades were, insinuating they were very low.

Those who support Trump are not blind. They must like his personality and fascist penchant most of all, much more than his appointing anti-abortion judges and protecting gun rights. They must be as mentally disturbed, frustrated, and angry as he is, due to unloving parents, especially distant fathers. They must actually want to install him as dictator of a racist police state. They do not value democracy and human rights. That is our nation’s problem. Trump did not cause 40% of American voters to be this way. They already existed. He simply attracts them and represents them. His supporters, mostly undereducated with very little culture and troubled personal lives, want a dictatorial savior. Just like the Germans who wanted Hitler.

How did we fall so low as a nation? By having an absolutely deficient public high school curriculum. All too many Americans are poorly educated in general, notably in civics, 20th Century history, ethics, logic and critical thinking. And all too many have deep psychological problems. Our addiction crisis is not due to foreign drug producers and smugglers. It is due to large numbers of mentally disturbed citizens. We need all our high schools to have a four-year course on psychology accompanied by “group therapy” and “good parenting” workshops, with individual attention for those in need.

Biden and the Democratic Party should declare that they do not want any further debates with Trump. They should firmly state that they find him a national disgrace and a threat to our democracy and human rights. They should explain that Trump has forfeited his right to any more debates by his revolting performance in the first debate. They should state that Trump is an uncivil debater who violates all the rules he promises to follow. That Trump’s performance has caused extreme grief, pain, and anxiety for the majority of Americans. Since Americans already know Trump and Biden’s character and policies very well, nothing constructive is to be gained from further debates, only more anguish.
